INTRODUCTION

The fourth edition of Heart Failure International Forum –„ Heart Failure: from prevention to medical devices” is being held in premiere, ONLINE, on a virtual platform that allows us to guarantee a high-quality transmission of the academic program. This two day course is suitable for young cardiologists, residents in cardiology, and other health care professionals aiming to acquire knowledge and specialized skills in heart failure management.

Heart failure is a complex clinical syndrome, with associates many lots cardiac and non-cardiac comorbidities. The diversity in etiology and precipitating factors suggest that multiple pathophysiological processes contribute to HF progression. Heart failure drugs cannot target the multitude of the pathologies involved in HF decompensation. Thus, the appropriate therapy selection for patient with HF is the central theme of the scientific program of our 2020 Forum. The objective of this educational program is to provide the skills and

knowledge for HF clinical practice, combining academic and clinical aspects of primary and in-hospital care, with lectures, clinical cases and interactive “Q and A” sessions.

Professor Andrew J.S. Coats, President of the Heart Failure Association of European of Cardiology, will open the meeting with his Introductory Discourse, and we are very proud to announce the participation of the entire Presidential trio of the HFA of ESC. Also, we are honoured by the presence of Prof Petar Seferovic, Vice President of European Society of Cardiology. A panel of highly experienced and well recognized opinion leaders from Europe and Romania will provide the scientific frame of the course.

During this two-day day course, a broad perspective of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for both acute and chronic HF, will be presented. Educational messages will be delivered by lectures and clinical case scenarios presented by young cardiologists from Romania and other European countries.

We wish you to enjoy this two-day course, relocated for the first time in virtual space!
